Book Seven in Melissa F. Miller’s USA Today Bestselling Legal Thriller Series!

Sasha’s knee-deep in an insurance coverage case, determined to finish discovery before her upcoming first anniversary trip to a tropical island. When she uncovers evidence of an arson-for-profit conspiracy buried in the thousands of pages of documents, she’s tempted to ignore it. But that’s not Sasha’s style, so she takes the information to the authorities.

Suddenly, instead of jetting off to Fiji, Sasha and Leo find themselves on the run from a hit man determined to cover up the crimes. They race to a deserted barrier island to hide out. Unfortunately for them, both the killer and a winter storm are headed their way.

Sasha and Leo face the fight of their lives, and the stakes are higher than even they realize.

Irrefutable Evidence Sasha McCandless Legal Thriller Book 7 edition by Melissa F Miller Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

This book runs almost the full gamut of things that we expect in a Sasha McCandless legal thriller. She gets dragged into unexpected trouble through her legal work, and finishes up relying on her Krav Maga skills to protect herself.

Sasha's husband Leo Connelly calls Sasha a "trouble magnet" and is overjoyed that no one has tried to kill them for seven months. Just as he is planning a romantic one-year wedding anniversary holiday in Fiji over Christmas, trouble strikes again as Sasha discovers a link to a huge arson-for-money fire insurance scam. The link is very important because the scam is master-minded by an important Mafia leader that the US Attorney has wanted to catch for years. It is especially dangerous to FBI agent Nino Carlucci, successfully under cover as driver for Peaches from the powerful Manetto crime family.

This is another easy reading, and mostly satisfying tale in the exciting lives of Sasha and Leo which probably ended a bit to soon for me. It is a quick read and some may even finish it in one session. The finale was one I had expected for some time which will add another dimension in the future to Sasha's already very complex life.

PS I still don't understand what Leo Connelly really does now that he has left the Federal Marshall service.

Irrefutable Evidence Sasha McCandless Legal Thriller Book 7 edition by Melissa F Miller Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I have read the series up to this point and do enjoy Ms. Miller's writing, I think she's very good. However we're seeing the same thing over and over again. The villains may be different but the plots and outcomes are all the same and at almost the exact same point in each of these books the twists and turns occur. I'm also seeing very little character development between book 1 to book 7 although there is nearly 5 to 6 years between them which means Sasha McCandless has one life threatening incident per year but somehow she's still the same person we met in book 1. Now if the character Sasha was indeed working at the same job, same personal life, same routines then yes, she could actually be stagnant, however thats not the case. Ms. Miller has changed quite a few things in Sasha's life that its not believable that she would in fact behave the same as she did in the beginning of the series. Despite all of this I was recommending the series to my mom and likened them to the TV show "Murder She Wrote" same format, different villian, same outcome. The one thing I do like is that each book can be read as a stand-a-lone book without having to rely on the prior books for the back story. Overall, I think its a good book I would just like to see more character development and believe-ability at this point.
Another thrilling and intensely engaging plot. However, I can't accept the fact that Connelly left Sasha unaware of his pending absence. This seems contrary to the impression given of him throughout the story of his training as a government agent as well as a devoted, fiercely protective husband. I understand that the plot called for him to be away in order for the attack on Sasha to take place, but I think if he had gone to her in the shower and let her know of his intention to be away, he would have continued to be seen as her champion and the same disturbing anticipation of danger his absence created would have remained. Shouting his leave-taking from downstairs and assuming she heard him over the roar of the shower made him seem rather lame. Almost as disappointing as this turn of events is Sasha's rather casual attitude toward his absence after fighting for survival on her own and Connelly's failure to offer her any physical or emotional comfort. At least, he should have embraced her, apologized for his misjudgement and assured her he would do everything possible to keep her safe in future.
At the end of Irrevocable Trust. Hank had been given guardianship of the six Bennett children. As a thank you to Sasha and Leo for their help, Hank presented them with a puppy, Mocha. Another pet has been added to Sasha and Leo's happy little family -- Java (the kitten) seems to welcome Mocha...

Jake provides the tenants of their building (where Sasha's law office is) with free coffee. He had recently started serving Steel City’s coffees exclusively. One day, they are out of "the good stuff" and what they are serving tastes like "swill" compared to their usual great coffee...

Jake asks Sasha for help. He had chosen to exclusively sell Steel City Roasters coffee. Without the supplier, Jake's business would suffer losses, as well. He asks Sasha for help for his friends and she agrees to talk to Pete and Tamsin, owners of Steel City Roasters Coffee...

A fire destroyed the Dried Goods Building that housed Steel City Roasters, the company that supplies coffee to Jake. The Maravaches' insurer denied coverage to them when they filed their post-fire claim. That denial leaves them unable to afford to reopen their roasting business anywhere else, even temporarily...

Sasha tells the Maravaches that their insurer refuses to pay their claim -- and they are not open to further discussion. The insurance company had paid for several other claims in the same building, as a result of the same fire. But their claim (for damages from the fire) was the ONLY claim that was denied. They agree with Sasha that the time has come to sue the insurers, to force them to honour their insurance policy and pay their arson claim; it is that or they would lose their business. Employees who work for Steel City Roasters will lose their jobs. Customers, like Jake, will suffer losses, as well...

Sasha is trying to finish discovery on an insurance claim before her first anniversary, an event that Leo has made all the arrangements for. When the Maravaches come to her for help, she starts digging into the claim. She inadvertently discovers an "arson-for-profit scheme" buried in thousands of pages of documents...

She is tempted to ignore it since Leo has made arrangements to visit a tropical locale for their one-year wedding anniversary -- warm sun and beaches sound very attractive...

But Sasha is not that kind of person, so she chooses to contact the authorities...

The story of Leo and Sasha getting ready to go to Fiji for their one-year wedding anniversary turns into Leo and Sasha are hiding out from men who want her dead, so he has to become her bodyguard -- now, THEY are fighting together just to stay alive...

I feel like every book allows the characters to grow and our understanding of Sasha grows with it. This series has been a great read -- Sasha and Connelly (aka Leo) are growing as a couple. Naya is turning out to be a major character and we see her character grow by leaps and bounds while she works with Sasha.

This book has it all -- a page-turning, legal thriller that leaves you wanting to rush to the next book as soon as you get to the end. There are plenty of twists and turns in this book to keep you up past your bedtime, racing to get to the good parts and find out "whodunit". Melissa F. Miller continues to write a great series that gets better with each book. I have not read one book in this series that I did not like -- and I read each book in one sitting. I feel like I know Sasha, Connelly and Naya and I want to see what happens next...

Ms. Miller delivers another 5-star read for her faithful fans!
